Fresh VS. Keepsake Botanicals for Your Flowers

The days of flimsy silk with fake dew drops and brittle plastic flowers have gone by the wayside and given way to new floral options that allow designers to create keepsake bouquets that will last years and years to come.  While delivering a recent order to a bride and her attendants, we were greeted with a gasp and "Oh No, you were supposed to make our flowers in SILK and not fresh!!" the delight in her face when we told her "But these ARE silk flowers!" was priceless!  With the introduction of latex flowers, "Real Touch" blooms and the significant improvable quality of silk flower manufacturing, options for keepsake bouquets have increased tenfold over the past 10 years.  While most brides prefer the look, feel and smell of fresh flowers, there are times that keepsake flowers can replace or enhance your designs.  For friends and family who are sentimental and want to display their flowers, those wanting flowers that are excessive in cost or unavailable out of season, for those looking for specific colors of blooms that mother nature doesn't produce, or for those blooms that do not hold up well due to temperatures, dryness or altitude issues, latex options can provide you with bouquets that might otherwise not be an option.  There are also times when using silk/latex flowers can cut the cost of your budget considerably - Allow your designer to create a 'hybrid' bouquet to incorporate artificial flowers to replace costly, delicate or unavailable fresh flowers in with fragrant fresh flowers for the perfect combination of appearance and cost... or consider renting floral accents that are large in size or not something you plan to keep such as ceremony floral, aisle decor, table decorations, fireplace arrangements, etc.  Renting these pieces can cut the cost of each piece to 20% or more.
